A new amphiphilic polymer polyethylene glycol-eleostearic acid ester (PEG-ESA) was synthesized by esterification using polyethylene glycol and eleostearic acid as reactants. The product was characterized by IR
MALDI-TOF-MS and 1HNMR. The properties of PEG-ESA were explored over both fluorescent probe and surface tension. The zeta potential and partical size of micellar solutions of PEG-ESA were studied in different conditions. The critical micelle concentration (CMC) of PEG-ESA was 1.1×10
-5
g/L
the water solubility of pyrene was enhanced by micellar solution of the new aliphatic ester. The micelle of PEG-ESA was stable and reached nanoscale under certain conditions.
