Coloring flame retardant copolyester with some inorganic and organic dyes was prepared by spun-dyed technology
and its spinnability was also studied. The crystallization properties
thermal behaviors
burning test and mechanical test of the coloring flame retardant copolyester were investigated by means of differential scanning calorimetry (DSC)
thermogravimetric analysis (TGA)
limiting oxygen index test (LOI) and yarn tensile strehgth tester. The results showed that the effects of dyes on the crystallization properties and thermal stability properties of flame retardant copolyester are negligible. Moreover
the coloring flame retardant copolyester showed a good flame retardant performance with LOI of 33%-35%. It also had a good spinnability. The thermal shrinkage of the coloring flame retardant copolyester fiber decreased
and the dimension stability improved. Its fracture strength can be more than 2.0 cN/dtex which can meet the requirement of textiles.
