Organic-inorganic nanocomposite microspheres are composite materials where two or more particles are dispersed on the nanometre scale through surface encapsulation or composite treatment. In recent years
organic-inorganic nanocomposite microspheres have attracted much attention due to their widely application prospects in various fields. In this review
the current mature synthesis technologies of organic-inorganic nanocomposite microspheres are summarized. The synthesis of organic-inorganic composite microspheres can be divided into three approaches: sol-gel
in situ polymerization
and other methods. The in situ polymerization method is introduced in details and the characteristic and application of different synthesis technique are analyzed and expounded. In addition
the potential applications of composite microspheres and future trends in the fields are also described.
