Due to the good processability and ability in large area production
the light-emitting polymers have shown great potential in the application of flat displays and solid-state lighting in recent years. Compared with red and green light- emitting polymers
the blue polymers have poorer electroluminescence property and stability
which becomes the bottleneck of the full color displays. Through introducing bulky side chains or substitute groups
and forming three-dimensional branched structure or host-guest structure with energy transfer
the solubility and photophysical properties are improved in order to get blue fluorescent polymers with high luminescence efficiency
good color purity
thermostability and good processability. In this article
the main progress of the blue light-emitting polymers was briefly reviewed from the point of the materials design.
