Influence of Copolymer Compatibilizers on the Morphology and Rheological Behavior of Immiscible Polymer Blends
Copolymer compatibilizers can improve the macroscopic mechanical properties of incompatible polymer blends by improving compatibility of the two homopolymers. The phase morphology and viscoelasticity of polymer blends are also influenced for the improvement of interfacial properties. In this paper
recent progresses on the mechanism and effect evaluation of copolymer compatibilization together with the morphology-rheology correlation of compatibilized polymer blends under flow have been reviewed. Special emphasis is put on the influence of the molecular structure of copolymer and processing conditions on the microscopic dynamics of structural formation during blending.
