Ion imprinting technology is an important branch of molecular imprinting technology. Ion-imprinted polymers have several outstanding advantages

such as predetermined recognition ability

relative easy and low cost preparation

high stability and excellent specific recognition ability for target ions. However

ion-imprinted polymers are difficult to separate from the solution. If ion imprinting technology is combined with magnetic technology

the prepared magnetic ion imprinted polymers not only have specific molecular recognition sites

but also have magnetic response characteristic

and can be separated and recovered easily under the extrinsic magnetic field. The research progress on magnetic ion imprinted polymer in recent years was reviewed in this paper. The problem and development trend in this area were also put forward.
