5-tetramethylbenzene and β-methoxynaphthalene prepared by oxidative coupling copolymerization.The structure of polymers was characterized by 1H NMR and FT-IR .The copolymers are all amorphous and have good thermal stability .The electrochemical behaviors of the polymers were investigated by cyclic voltammetry .From the electrochemistry and UV-Vis spectroscopy
the HOMO and LUMO energy level of the polymers were calculated .The absorbance of the polymers were characterized by UV-Vis spectroscopy .The fluorescence spectra of polymers in chloroform solution display that the copolymer of coumarin and triphenylamine is blue-light emitting ;the copolymer of coumarin and dialkyloxyl benzene
and the copolymer of coumarin and tetramethylbenzene are green-light emitting ;the copolymer of coumarin and stilbene is yellow-green or orange light emitting ;and the copolymer of coumarin and β-methoxynaphthalene is red light emitting materials respectively .On the other hand
the copolymers contained coumarin 1 display blue and orange light emitting .In a word
the copolymers contained coumarin display blue
green and red light emitting .Hence it is possible to tune the emission of the copolymers from blue to red by changing the moieties .
