Agricultural straw is one of the important renewable biomass resources. But it has not obtained sufficient attention and exploitation. With the strategy of sustainable development become a basic national strategy

using straw to produce environment-friendly and energy-saving materials have huge development potential. In this paper

we summarize the research progress in development of the straw composite materials in recent years based on a simple analysis of the straw’s species and composition

respectively

for several typical agricultural straws. The preparation of straw composite materials and the influence factors on the performance of the materials such as species and shapes were analyzed. Finally

the prospect of developing agricultural straw material industry was discussed.
