Research Progress of Application of Aluminum Chloride in the Synthesis of Poly-α-olefins
-olefins synthetic oil is widely used as the base oil of high-grade lubricating oil and is most commonly used in the production of automobile engine lubricating oil
industrial gear oil and turbine lubricating oil. This paper introduces the properties
synthesis methods and various catalysts of Poly-
α
-olefins. The reaction mechanism and technological process of synthesizing poly-
α
-olefins with aluminum chloride as catalyst are described. The process development of poly-
α
-olefins synthesis with aluminum chloride as catalyst in recent years was reviewed from three aspects: modification and loading of aluminum chloride
selection of reaction raw materials and synergistic effect of cocatalysts. According to the advantages and disadvantages of poly-
α
-olefins synthesis process with aluminum chloride as catalyst
the research direction of polyalphaolefin synthesis process is prospected.
