Preparation of Polymer Quantum Dots and Their Modification of Zn-MnO2 Cathode Performance——A Comprehensive Experimental Design for Undergraduate Chemistry
and performance testing into a comprehensive undergraduate chemistry laboratory designed for senior students to conduct. In this study
polyethyleneimine (PEI) and hydroquinone were used as raw materials to prepare fluorescent amino polymer dots (APDs) t
hrough self-assembly and cross-linking in an aqueous system. The optical and structural characteristics of the APDs were investigated using ultraviolet-visible absorption spectroscopy
fluorescence spectroscopy
infrared spectroscopy
and transmission electron microscopy. Subsequently
APDs were coated on the surface of
δ
-MnO
2
to construct a composite cathode material
and Zn-MnO
2
batteries were assembled accordingly. Electrochemical measurements
including cyclic voltammetry and galvanostatic charge-discharge tests
were performed to investigate the effects of the APDs on the specific capacity
rate performance
and cycling stability of the cathode material. This experiment integrates the synthesis
characterization
and application of polymer quantum dots into undergraduate teaching
which helps students understand the optimization mechanism of interface regulation on energy storage performance and systematically trains their comprehensive practical abilities in material preparation
