The research progress of the stimulus-responsive polymer brushes was summarized in this article. The classification
the way to connect with the substrate and the conventional preparation of the polymer brushes were discussed. The ionic strength-responsive
temperature-responsive
pH-responsive
light-responsive and solvent-responsive polymer brushes and their current research progress were introduced in details
and the corresponding stimulus-responsive mechanism was also discussed. The design and preparation procedure of the multiple stimulus-responsive polymer brushes and their multiple stimulus-responsive properties were summarized. The bending behavior of the substrate resulting from polymer bushes responding to the external stimulus was discussed
and the 3D controllable self-assembling behavior by the bending was presented. The future of the stimulus-responsive polymer bushes was also prospected in this article.
