A large number of waste Poly(vinyl butyral) (PVB) films have been produced with widely application of PVB films in the field of car windshields
building safety glass and solar photovoltaic package. The recycling and reusing of waste PVB films is being drawn more and more attention due to the issues of raw materials
cost and environment pollution. In this paper
the current situation of research and application is reviewed in reusing of the recycled PVB films. The researches on this area are summarized and analyzed from many aspects
such as decolorization of colored PVB films
making waste PVB films as toughening agent of plastics
preparing PVB composites and dissolving waste PVB as coating or adhesive. The advice is proposed to the research on the reusing and modification of waste PVB films in the future.
