The excellent properties of nano-SiO

particles are restricted largely due to their aggregation and poor dispersion in organic solvents
so chemical modification of SiO
2
are necessary to overcome these disadvantages. Atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) is an effective way for the modification of nano-SiO
2
particles
