Polyfluorene PFketal with ketal-containing side chain was synthesized by Suzuki polymerization
acid treatment of PFketal resulted in polymer PFOH which consists hydroxyl groups. The polymers were characterized by FT-IR

H-NMR
GPC
UV-Vis
PL and cyclic voltammogram(CV) measurements. Two polymers exhibit similar spectral properties
they both show maximum UV absorption peaks at 387 nm and maximum photoluminescence peaks at 424 nm. CV spectra indicate that PFOH shows relatively lower oxidation onset potential compared with PFketal. The solubility of polymers in polar solvents can be improved by incorporation of hydroxyl groups
PFOH is readily soluble in N
N-Dimethylformamide (DMF) and Dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO)
