the synthesis chemistry and characterization of the part-and whole-alicyclic polyimides were described.Especially

the particularity in the synthesis of the whole-alicyclic was presented.As an important material used widely in the alignment of the liquid crystals

alicyclic polyimides were paid more and more attention in recent years.Therefore

the emphasis was placed on the applications of the alicyclic polyimides as liquid crystal display (LCD) alignment films.
