Surfaces are the phase boundaries that reside between the materials and the outer environment. Application performance for a material relies largely upon the surface properties in many cases.Grafting different polymer chains onto the material surface can satisfy a wide variety of requirements.Being a very promising method
surface-initiated living (controlled)polymerization offers the advantages of uniform grafting chains
well defined chain structure
and controlled chain length. This review covers the recent studies on the living (controlled)polymerization from different surfaces by various mechanisms.
