A review. Conductive polymers have been become new microwave absorbing materials for their low density
varied structure and adjustable electromagnetic parameters. To improve its absorbing properties
a lot of research has been carried out on micro-and macro-structural design. It has been found that conductive polymers and their metal complexes have good microwave absorbing properties
which would be significantly enhanced through micro-structure control such as with nanometer size
nano-fiber morphology or with chirality. Composited to a binary or multi-component system and constructed to multi-layered system or metamaterial structure can result in more excellent absorbing properties. In this paper
the microwave absorbing materials containing conductive polymers are reviewed
some recent results are brief introduced and the development of polymeric materials in microwave absorbing field is prospected.
