Adsorption and separation materials made from raw material of cellulose can reduce the use of petroleum resources and has many advantages such as low cost
environmentally friendly and good biocompatibility. Cellulose contains large amounts of hydroxyl groups which can be modified by the reaction of crosslinking
grafting
introducing inorganic particles or combination with polymer to prepare adsorption and separation materials with the morphology of microsphere or film. These materials are widely used in biomedical
waste water treatment
gas separation and other fields. In this paper
the latest advances on research of cellulose and its composite materials in adsorption and separation fields of water
oil
heavy metal ions
gases and organics were reviewed by summarizing the relevant papers published during the past 5 years. Based on this
the research trend and the existing problems were discussed.
