Uniform poly (AAm-DVB) microspheres with the average diameters varying from 2. 933µm to 4. 74µm were prepared in ethanol by precipitation polymerization with AIBN as the initiator. The parameters which influence both the product morphology and temperature-resistance were investigated by particle size analysis
scanning electron microscope and thermogravimetric analysis. The results show that only control the temperature at 70℃
the addition of DVB in 25% 〜 50% and the addition of monomers below 4%
uniform microspheres could be obtained; increasing the DVB concentration in monomers
the temperature-resistance of microspheres is enhanced and which could be as high as 320℃. The average diameters of microspheres increase with the prolonging in polymerization time while decrease with the increasing in initiator concentration. However
both the prolonging in polymerization time and the increasing in initiator concentration are favorable to the increase of yield.
