Porous materials have received great attention due to their potential applications in various fields. Mesoporous materials with channel sizes of 2-50 nm have high specific surface area and pore volume. Also
the nanochannels of mesoporous materials possess the confinement effects. Therefore
mesoporous materials are not only of importance in separation
adsorption
and catalysis
but also have great potential in energy storage
environmental treatment
and electronics. Controlled size and morphologies
as well as the chemistry of pore walls
are critical to the performance of mesoporous materials. Block copolymers can form ordered structures at mesoscopic scale through microphase separation
which provides an ideal platform for the preparation of mesoporous materials. In this review
the methods of preparing mesoporous materials via block copolymers are summarized.
