Though polymerization dynamics is the key point during the teaching of polymer chemistry
the corresponding dynamic experiments for undergraduates hasn’t caught necessary attentions due to the limitation of teaching hours and experimental hardware conditions. In particular
the curing dynamic experiments of thermosetting resin are basically not involved in the undergraduate stage. In this article
using renewable vanillin and furfurylamine as the feedstocks
a bio-benzoxazine was prepared and its curing kinetics
activation energy
reaction mechanism and static curing technology were studied by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). The results obtained by the domestic DSC equipment basically meet the requirements of the undergraduate experimental teaching
which creates enough chances for the promotion of the designed project described in this article.
