Progress in Membrane-Forming Technique and Mechanism for Gas Separation
The development of membranes for gas separation was reviewed.Several types of membranes for gas separation were introduced
including drying technique of reverse osmosis membrane in 1970’s
"resistance model" and "composite model" membranes in 1980’s
and integrally skinned asymmetric membranes in 1990’s.The membrane-forming mechanism by microphase separation phenomena during an quench step of an initially thermodynamically stable polymer solution was emphatieally analysed. And finally the shortcomings of present membrane-forming technique were preposed and the development trend was given.
