Real-time measurement technologies can achieve a continuous diagnosis in polymer processes
and have no influence on production line.Fast and effective online diagnosis technology is increasingly finding uses for controlling the quality of polymeric materials during all phases of production and for minimizing waste in the form of off-spec materials. So
real-time diagnosing and monitoring technologies play a key role in improving the market competitiveness and become a hot researching field. In this paper
examples of developments in real-time diagnosing technologies and their applications to polymer processes will be presented. The diagnosing methods will mainly focus on spectroscopy
optical microscopy and acoustic. In this article
the application fields of real-time diagnosing technologies include the rheological behavior
structure changes
the residence time distribution
and the development of morphology in polymer processes. In addition
the limitations of different technologies will be compared in this article. The aim of this paper is give a contribution in the research in real-time technologies.
