Tin fluorophosphate glass (Pglass) with low glass transition temperature is a relatively new inorganic polymeric glass. During the melt processing temperature of many polymer
the Pglass is liquid. In the present paper
polypropylene (PP)/Pglass composites have been prepared by twin-screw extruder. Moreover
the morphologies
interface properties
rheology properties
crystallization behavior
tensile properties and thermal stability have been investigated. The results showed the Pglass particles dispersed in the PP matrix with a micrometer diameter
and phase interfacial was clear and the compatibility was poor. With the addition of Pglass the shear viscosity of the composites decreased. The crystalline properties increased with the Pglass content. The composites had much larger elasticity modulus than that of pure PP. The thermal stability of the composites increased.
