polymer conjugated drugs have attracted much attention due to their good stability
excellent sustained release and specific drug targeting. Generally
they can be prepared by two methods: first monomer polymerization then drug conjugating
and first making drug conjugated into monomers then polymerization. Based on this classification
the recent research progress of polymer conjugated drugs is reviewed. The biodegradable polymers as the carrier of polymer conjugated drugs have good biodegradability in vivo and can avoid a second major surgical procedure. The post-polymerization method of drug conjugated monomers is convenient for its simple procedure with high drug-loading. These advantages make them be two important developing directions in the research area of polymer conjugated drugs. Especially
assembling carrier preparation and drug loading into one-step process to prepare biodegradable polymer conjugated drugs is very noteworthy.
