The optimum process condition of emulsifying polymer wax was obtained by the orthogonal design method using Fatty alcohol polyoxyethylene ether (MOA-15)
Propanediol block polyether (L31) and Laurate polyoxyethylene ester (LAE-4) as compound emulsifiers with phase conversion method. The optimum process conditions were HLB value 9
the dosage of compound emulsifier 8%
the emulsifying temperature 80°C. The particle size distribution was tested by using dynamic light scattering (DLS)
and the particle size was 256. 3nm. The relation of modulus and dynamic frequency of polymer wax emulsion was discussed by using the dynamic rheological test. The dynamic frequency scanning test investigated that the polymer wax emulsion system has better viscoelasticity. The waterborne coatings were prepared by mixing the polymer wax emulsion and waterborne polyurethane. Effect of different content of polymer wax emulsion was discussed. With the increment of the content from 0 to 4 %
the abrasion loss of the membranes decreased from 29. 2mg to 13. 9mg
the water absorption decreased from 34. 1% to 20. 5 %
