Exploration on Motivating Students to Self-Study at Home and to Apply Knowledge for Preventing Epidemic Disease: A Record of Online Teaching of Polymer Physics
Polymer Physics course is not friendly for a beginner due to its abstract concepts. During the epidemic period
students usually are not able to be self-disciplined to study at home. This dilemma challenges teaching. This paper therefore explores a new teaching form by employing the flip class with an addition of a project study in groups and an oral defense online. The study theme is "knowledge on polymer physics in Taobao products" . Considering the current epidemics
the topic study focuses on applications of concepts in polymer physics to epidemic prevention and treatments. By curiosity-driven interests and excitement
teaching and industrial applications are easy to be combined into one. Students are encouraged to apply knowledge to prevent epidemic diseases
and facilitated to establish social responsibilities as a talent in polymer areas.
