Cellulose nanofibers combine in a very exciting manner important properties of cellulose with amazing features of nano-scale materials.While It’s difficult to prepare cellulose nanofibers by electrospinning directly because cellulose is seldom soluble in common solvents owing to considerable inter- and/or intra-molecular hydrogen bonding. However

it’s an effective method to prepare cellulose nanofibers using electrospun cellulose derivatives nanofiber followed by hydrolysis. This paper reviewes the development of preparing cellulose nanofibers through the two methods at home and abroad. The prospect of preparing cellulose nanofibers by electrospinning has also been described.
