the facts that decrease the thermal stability and how to enhance the thermal stability of polysiloxanes are reviewed. Thermal depolymerization and thermo-oxidative degradation are the main reactions during the thermal aging of polysiloxanes. Accordingly
the thermal stability of polysiloxanes may beinfluenced by oxide

alcohol
acid
base
residual catalyst
silicone oil
mechanical stress
filler or the end groups of itself. Changing the structure of polysiloxane and adding antioxidants or stabilizers can improve the thermal stability of poly siloxances.
