Fluorinated acrylate latices have been widely used in the field of coatings
adhesives
chemical auxiliaries for textile due to their excellent surface properties .However
the fluorinated monomers have relatively high price
and also
the residual emulsifiers in the latex films have negative effects on the water/oil repellency of films . Therefore
it is of great importance to reduce fluorinated component content in copolymers while keeping the excellent surface properties of the resulting latex films .This paper reviews the methods of improving the surface properties of fluorinated acrylate latex films
including the efficient utilization of fluorinated monomers
the design of latex particles
chain structures of copolymer
and the post-treatment of latex films resulted from fluorinated acrylate copolymer .
