Polysilane is a kind of polymer with it' s backbone consisting of silicon atoms only. It can be used as opto-electronic materials and the precursor of ceramic. Electrochemical reduction is a novel synthetic method of polysilane
which was developed recently years and possesses good prospect. It is through cathodic reduction of chlorosilane in electrolysis cell to obtain polymer
it can broaden the scope of functional polysilanes
since the reaction conditions are mild. This review presents a brief account of the electrochemical synthesis of polysilane
including the implementation method
the influence factors such as cell type
electrode material
supporting electrolyte and solvent
the switching time of electrode
the distance of electrodes
electric current density. The synthesis mechanism and the recent research evolution were introduced too.
