Bridged polysilsesquioxanes is a widely used organic-inorganic hybrid material. This material has a three- dimensional net-like structure
which makes the material achieve the mixture of the inorganic phase and the organic phase in the molecular level. Its properties are the combination of the two-phase nature. We can gain varieties of bridged polysilsesquioxanes with different properties by changing the type of organic phase. In this paper
we introduce the bridged polysilsesquioxanes xerogel and aerogel from the view of molecular structure
synthetic methods
representative materials and typical applications. In addition
we also introduce the history
the monomer structure and the application of a special bridged polysilsesquioxane material with periodic mesoporous structure.
