Materials contact with biological systems through their surfaces/interfaces; the interaction of material surfaces with the biomolecules and cells in the biological environment plays an important role to determine the realization of the biological functionalities of the materials. Therefore
the regulation of the interactions between the materials and the organism is the key issue in the research and application of biomaterials. In this review
we summarized the recent research progress of our group in the field of biointerfaces. Based on the design of biofunctional surfaces on the molecular level
we have established a series of facile modification methods with high efficiency and general applicability to change the physical and chemical properties of material surfaces
and thus to regulate the interactions of material surfaces with a variety of biological molecules(such as proteins)or cells/bacteria.
