Supramolecular polymer composites (SPCs) are defined as the composites composed of supramolecular polymers as matrix and fibers or fillers as reinforcements. SPCs have three types that the matrix and reinforcements can be linked by covalent bonds
non-covalent bonds or no chemical bonds. The research and development of SPCs form whole science and engineering system of polymer composites together with the covalent bonded polymer composites. In this paper
hydrogen bonded
π-π stacked and metal-ligand coordinated (metallosupramolecular) SPCs as well as their self-healing behavior and mechanism are reviewed.
