The diposing and recycling of waste rubber is the important and difficult point in the world rubber industry. Pyrolysis is environmentally-friendly and potential solid waste treatment method
attracting a large number of people's attention. The pyrolysis of scrap rubber can solve the environmental pollution efficiently caused by these dumped rubber
but also can recycle three useful products: pyrolytic carbon
pyrolytic oil and gas. The typical pyrolysis reactors and techniques of waste rubber are overviewed in this paper
including vacuum-moving bed reactor
fixed bed reactor
fluidized bed reactor
rotary kiln reactor
microwave assisted pyrolysis and catalytic pyrolysis. The effects of the main process conditions are systematically outlined. The composition
physicochemical properties and application of the resulting products are also detailed analysis. The key of waste rubber pyrolysis is to obtain high-quality products
while reducing the consumption of energy to the greatest extent. As a result
to develop an economic
energy-saving and to obtain higher value of pyrolytic products is the main direction of waste rubber pyrolysis technology.
