Amphoteric proton exchange membrane is a kind of polymer membranes with proton-conducting function
which contains both acidic and basic structure. Strong structural design and special interaction of molecular chains make it excellent blocking performance of methanol or vanadium ion while conducting
has caused wide attention in recent years. In this paper
the relevant research results at home and abroad were reviewed
and the amphoteric proton exchange membrane was defined. According to chemical structure and preparation methods
it was divided into three types: (1) alkaline polymer and high boiling acid doping type
(2) acid and alkaline polymer blends
and (3) the intrinsic properties of polymers containing the acid-base structure
and their applications in proton exchange membrane fuel cells and vanadium redox flow batteries were discussed.
