The metal organic frameworks (MOFs) are a new type of self-assembled skeleton materials with metal ions as centers and organic matters as ligands
which have been developed for about 20 years. MOFs have been widely studied due to their porosity
large surface area and diversity of structure and function. Based on these characteristics
they have cheerful application prospects in the adsorption and separation of gases and as catalysts. The first step of material research is the synthesis of materials. Therefore
the research on the synthesis of MOFs has attracted much attention. In this mini- review
we reviewed the synthetic methods of MOFs in recent years which can be divided into two categories
the "bottom- up" method and the "top-down" method
and the development trend of the synthetic methods were also prospected.
