By reviewing the history of tire development

the main structural characteristics and existing defects of traditional tires represented by the bias tires and radial tires were analyzed

indicating that novel tires were in urgent need of development. And the representative novel tire products including non-pneumatic tires and new pneumatic tires were summarized. Then

their structural characteristics and unique advantages compared with traditional tires were discussed. The study provided a guide for the direction of the development of tires in the future. Compared with traditional tires

environmentally friendly and easy to maintain. The development of new pneumatic tires is actually improvement of traditional tires based on the scene of application.
