Organic solar cells (OSCs) are important photovoltaic devices with light weight and easy to be processed. They are the research hotspots in the field of photovoltaics. Conventional organic solar cells adopt classical laminated structure
and consist of electron transport layer
active layer
and a hole transport layer. Among them
the active layer material is a key component to realize the conversion from solar energy to electrical energy. The material types
internal structure and surface topography of the active layer will have an important impact on the power conversion efficiencies (PCE) of the photovoltaic device. Here
we introduce the research progress of OSCs active layer materials in recent years and summarize the active layer materials of fullerene OSCs and non-fullerene OSCs
and then we predict the development trend of them.
