Poly (3-hydroxybutyrate-3-hydroxyvalerate) (PHBV) nanofibers have been attractively used as biomedical materials due to its high specific surface area
high porosity
biocompatibility
and biodegradability. This review summarizes the methods to control the morphology and structure of PHBV electrospun nanofibers nanofiber by adjusting the solvent
concentration
additional salts and polymers of PHBV electrospinning solution. Based on the recently research of PHBV nanofibers in tissue engineering and drug delivery carriers
the improvement of hydrophilicity and mechanical properties PHBV nanofibers are emphatically introduced. In addition
some problems existing in preparations and applications of electrospun PHBV nanofibers in biomedical field are further proposed. Finally
the development trends and prospects for PHBV nanofibers are forecasted.
