Chun-hui LUO. Research Progress of Thermo-responsive Amino Acid-Polymer Hybrid Materials[J]. Polymer Bulletin, 2016,29(1):25-30. DOI: 10.14028/j.cnki.1003-3726.2016.01.004.
Thermo-responsive polymers are wildly used in sensors
nanotechnology
gene engineering
and other fields. Poly(N-isopropylacryl amide)
poly[oligo(ethylene glycol) (meth)acrylates] and pyrrolidone based polymers are typical thermo-sensitive polymers. However
traditional thermo-responsive polymers displayed relatively monotonous function. With the development of technology
thermo-responsive polymers were expected to display multi-stimuli sensitive mechanism
biocompatibility
bio-degradation and other functions. Amino acids/polypeptides have the characteristic of chirality
biocompatibility
multifunctional group and diverse secondary structures. Using amino acids/peptides to synthesize thermo-responsive polymers can incorporate the advantages of bio-molecule and the superiorities of synthetic polymers together. The research progress of this hybrid material is reviewed.
